Peter Caranicas, Managing Editor, Variety
Peter Caranicas is managing editor of features at Variety, the daily entertainment trade paper.Before joining Variety he was editor of Below the Line, which focuses on film crews, crafts and technology, and editor and publisher of Film&Video magazine and development director at its trade show affiliate, ShowBiz Expo. His past stints have included top editorial posts at Shoot, Videography and Millimeter, and he has freelanced for The Hollywood Reporter, TVNewsday, NATPE Daily, World Screen News and The New York Times Encyclopedia of Television. At Variety he is charged with developing new editorial sections covering all aspects of the entertainment industry, including technology, business, crafts, and the creative process. Caranicas is a graduate of Yale University and the London School of Economics.
